The problem

FARO, a Lombardy-based company specializing in dental lighting, aimed to free its Research and Development team from repetitive requests from the sales and after-sales departments, creating the conditions to foster continuous innovation.

Objective: Develop an intelligent system to manage and quickly consult complex corporate documents, improving employee operational efficiency and reducing response times from 24-48 hours to just a few seconds.

The solution

The project involved the creation of a document repository that can be queried in natural language, based on Microsoft Azure and advanced technologies such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and GPT models. The system enables:

  1. Centralizing 18,000 technical documents and emails containing relevant information.
  2. Providing precise and rapid responses to internal inquiries through a conversational interface.
  3. Ensuring security and access control via Microsoft Entra ID.
  4. Delivering automated responses with cited document sources for reliability.

MADE Competence Center and Avvale supported FARO in all project phases, from requirements analysis to system design and implementation, including staff training for effective use of the solution.
